Tilt or tap? Finding your setup in Neon Drift Circuit

Tilt or tap? Finding your setup in Neon Drift Circuit

March 22, 2026 · Lukas Vogel

Neon Drift Circuit gives you a choice of controls right away, and I ignored it, kept the default, and blamed the game for my lousy times. Big mistake. The right control scheme completely changes how the game feels.

I started on touch buttons because they felt safe. They work fine, but I kept over-steering on tight corners. Switching to tilt felt scary at first, then quickly became the way I actually enjoyed drifting — small, smooth adjustments instead of jabbing at buttons.

The trick with drifting here is to commit early. Start your slide before the corner, not during it. Once I stopped braking so late, my lines got cleaner and my times dropped fast.

If tilt isn't for you, that's fine, plenty of people race well on touch. The point is to try both properly for a few races before deciding. Don't let a bad default sour a genuinely fun racer.
